Rainbow Snippet for 2-5-2022

Rainbow Snippets is a group for LGBTQ+ authors, bloggers, and readers to gather once a week and share six sentences from a work of fiction–a WIP or a finished work or even a 6-sentence book recommendation (no spoilers please!).  Check out all the other awesome snippets by clicking on the picture above.

This snippet picks up from last week’s, from my still unnamed FF vampire novel. It’s also extremely raw (as in I’m pretty much writing this for Rainbow Snippet posts until I get the first draft of a different novel finished) so never mind any head-hopping you’ll see in any snippets.

Sam forced herself to focus on the task at hand, deliberately schooling her thoughts away from the woman watching her. There was something compelling about her, something that made her want to…

She pushed the thoughts away and focused on lug nuts. Lug nuts weren’t nearly as interesting as Olivia Elder, but they were safer. Much safer. Somehow she was certain that Olivia Elder wasn’t safe at all.

  1. It is difficult to work with someone attractive and compelling. I know, I’m stuck doing it every day!
(I work from home, by myself. ;-)
I shared your post on Twitter.

  2. Ooh, watch the sensual curl of steam drift up between them! (heart)

  3. Yeah, I don’t think Olivia Elder is safe, either.
