Rainbow Snippets is a group for LGBTQ+ authors, bloggers, and readers to gather once a week and share six sentences from a work of fiction–a WIP or a finished work or even a 6-sentence book recommendation (no spoilers please!).   Check out all the other awesome snippets by clicking on the picture above.

Picking up from last week.

“You’re safe, so don’t be afraid. It’s a friend.”

“Bran! Come in!”

“This isn’t a social call,” a man’s voice responded, but they heard him stamp the snow off of his feet as the door closed behind him, and they left the table to stand near the doorway so they could see. “I’m here with a warning.”

“I know that,” Kamrin replied with a laugh as Bran shook the sleet from his hat and coat. “I figured the good reverend was on the phone to the police before I had my front door closed. What took you so long?”

He glanced toward the door. “Have you been out in that tonight? Wrecks everywhere and where there aren’t wrecks driving is hazardous at best. We’re only handling emergencies and this isn’t an emergency. Besides, it’s a civil issue, not criminal. I just wanted to let you know that he’s trying to make trouble.”

“And you couldn’t have called?” Amusement tinged her voice as she took his coat and hung it up.

“I could have,” he admitted, glancing toward the kitchen.

  1. Interesting…I’m not sure if he’s a friend or not, although he doesn’t seem to be an enemy.

  2. Can’t say I think much of the “good reverend.” 🤨

  3. Jackie Keswick

Sounds as if Bran’s in desperate need of some comfort…

  4. Hopefully he’s here to help
