Sunday Snippet, December 1, 2019

This follows from last week’s snippet. No luck yet on a cable for my ancient external hard drive. (There’s no guarantee this will be on there anyhow.)

“Welcome.”

She had sensed his presence before he spoke, and she turned to face him. “Thank you,” she replied, studying him.

He was tall and muscular, his build and stance speaking of a lifetime of training in the ways of war, and she found herself wondering how he came to belong here, in this haven.

“Do you seek sanctuary for the night, Traveler?” His words were formal, but his voice and eyes were warm.

“I…” Kestra hesitated. She knew the city would be more dangerous at night, but the sense of urgency from the Call was growing. “I am seeking someone,” she finished, not sure how much she could tell him.

  1. The warmth in his eyes was an intriguing detail. It could mean so many things, making me want to read on to discover what it does mean.

  2. Another excellent excerpt – I hope you do find the rest of this story. I’m intrigued by her mixed emotions and her need to find…someone.

  3. Very intriguing snippet ! enjoyed the read.

  4. I’m interested in knowing who she is seeking.

  5. Hywela Lyn

What a great snippet – I’m so sorry you haven’t been able to find the rest of it – is there any chance you could just rewrite it?

  6. A friendly face. At least, I hope he can be trusted.
