Bran sighed. “You’re risking too much, Kunda,” he said softly.
“I’m risking nothing. Certainly not anything worth more than their lives. Now hang up your coat and come have some spaghetti and meet my new friends.”
“Let me go change first.”
She nodded. “Probably not a bad idea. I’ll start a new pot of coffee.”
“Are we causing trouble for you?”
Alex’s voice was anxious and she smiled.
“Not at all. You have the right to be here. I have the right to have you here.” Green eyes sparkled with mirth. “The Rev’s been having fits ever since I bought the property and started fixing it up.”
Poor Kunda…it’s bad enough to have nasty neighbors, but they’re putting pressure on her for not being nasty? Ugh…
