Rainbow Snippet for 1-13-2018

Rainbow Snippets is a group for LGBTQ+ authors, bloggers, and readers to gather once a week and share six sentences from a work of fiction–a WIP or a finished work or even a 6-sentence book recommendation (no spoilers please!).   Check out all the other awesome snippets by clicking on the picture above.

I’m posting excerpts from Doll, a little F/f BDSM story that I started back in January of 2014. It’s kind of a UFO (UnFinished Object) that is sort of turning back into a WiP. We’ll see.

Picking up from last week, and Doll’s memory/flashback to her meeting with the woman with the boots and bullwhip.

…she owned the room simply by walking into it.

She wore black leather boots – fashion, not fetish. Beneath her long black leather coat, she wore a grey wool skirt that fell to mid-calf and a white blouse, probably silk. She had no jewelry other than a silver and black watch that I saw a glimpse of as she handed me her coat.

There was nothing about her that said she was part of the scene, and yet…

I felt her gaze on me and I shivered. I was used to men looking at me, used to their stares and appraisal, but she was different; it wasn’t my body that she was appraising, but my soul, my submissiveness, my willingness to please.

It was that willingness – that need – to please that made me tremble, made me pray to be found… not worthy, but acceptable.

Until I saw her.

It was a Friday night, still early; the regulars hadn’t begun wandering in yet. I was sitting at the bar talking to Victor, the owner’s sub, regular bartender, and occasional bouncer, when the door opened and an icy blast of wind came in.

“Who’s she?” I couldn’t tear my eyes away from the woman who had entered with the wind, nor could I wait for an answer; I slid off of the stool and approached, stopping at a respectful distance, my eyes carefully lowered.

“May I take your coat, Ma’am?”

I could almost see Victor’s amused half-smile but it didn’t matter: nothing mattered except being near her, being of service to her. I had never met anyone with a presence like hers; she owned the room simply by walking into it.

I’m posting excerpts from Doll, a little F/f BDSM story that I started back in January of 2014 for Siobhan Muir’s Thursday Threads Flash Fiction Challenge. It got a little over the word limit, but I liked it, so decided to keep it as the start an eventual novel. Maybe.

This follows from last week – sort of. It’s the start of a flashback to Doll’s first meeting with the woman who would come to be her Mistress. (And, hey! It’s actually exactly six sentences this week!) (Courtesy of some changes from the original, but hey… Six sentences!)

I had never given any thought to being owned by a woman; actually, I had never given any thought to being owned by anyone.

Until I saw her.

Until I saw her I was perfectly content with casual scening at Restraint, a local BDSM club.

I was a regular there and knew just about everyone, having scened with most of them at one time or another. I was a popular bottom: experienced enough at most forms of play to be useful for demonstration and training and always willing to scene, but not seeking a permanent relationship.

Until I saw her.

I don’t normally write in first person so I have no idea how this happened.  I’m blaming the writing prompt.

I also don’t normally write non spec-fic.

I also have no idea where this is going. It was and will probably continue to be) written in snippet form. (I was writing a few lines a week back then for another snippet group.)

Picking up from last week which ended with our narrator, Doll, being pulled to her feet with the end of a bullwhip wrapped around her throat.

Gentle fingers tangled in my hair and lips – soft but firm – captured mine and I yielded to them with a soft hungry moan.  I couldn’t help it; I was trained not to hide my emotions or my responses — hiding them was a form of lying and my Owner demanded truth, accepted nothing less than truth.

I was led a few steps away from the others and pulled close, into a warm embrace.  Those same lips teased my ear.

“Mine,” she whispered, and I shivered in pleasure at the word.  “Tell me about the others.”

Picking up from where I left off last week, with Doll having just described the other two people kneeling beside her.

The crack of a bullwhip got our attention and we raised our gazes. Not all the way – none of us wanted to feel the lash from that whip – just far enough to get a look at the one wielding it.

Black leather boots crossed in front of us. We raised our eyes no further than that, and aside from a tremble at the thought of the whip none of us moved when the boots stood behind us.

Then I felt it: the supple leather wrapped around my throat, the end of the lash dangling between my breasts. The leather tightened, drawing me to my feet and turning me to face the wielder.

We weren’t given a choice.

Not that we wanted one.

I dared a quick glance at the others who knelt beside me.

To my left was Lissa: waist-length black hair, almond shaped light brown eyes, high cheekbones, olive complexion – she was an exotic beauty and she knew it, and the black leather collar with its brass studs and rings did nothing to diminish her haughtiness. She was here to learn her place, to learn to submit – to submit fully, not just when it pleased her to do so.

To my right was Jake: perfect bronzed body, sandy brown hair, hazel eyes – he was certain that he would become the favorite, and wore the collar as if it was some sort of prize that he had won. He was here hoping to earn a permanent place in the household – preferably in the owner’s bed.

Me? I’m not important. Just call me Doll. The plain leather collar around my neck rankled; it wasn’t what I normally wore.
