Rainbow Snippets is a group for LGBTQ+ authors, bloggers, and readers to gather once a week and share six sentences from a work of fiction–a WIP or a finished work or even a 6-sentence book recommendation (no spoilers please!). Check out all the other awesome snippets by clicking on the picture above.
This snippet picks up from last week’s, from my still unnamed FF vampire novel. It’s also extremely raw (as in I’m pretty much writing this for Rainbow Snippet posts until I get the first draft of a different novel finished) so never mind any head-hopping you’ll see in any snippets.
Linda shook her head again. “Anyhow, into the dressing room with you. Strip down to bra and underwear so I can see what sort of figure I’m working with and we’ll see what we can find for you to wear.”
“Don’t I get to choose?”
“No,” Celia replied.
Linda laughed. “We’ll give you choices.”
“Will I like them?”
“Probably not,” Celia said. “But you really should wear more than jeans and t-shirts and sweatshirts.”
“Why?”
“So when you get invited to the hottest club in town you don’t end up in a panic with nothing to wear.”
Linda winked at her. “Don’t worry. I’ll rein Celia in and we’ll find you something appropriate and not too horrible.”
I’m starting to get flashbacks…trying clothes on could be such a nightmare. (wry grin) Yet rewarding when you find the right thing. (another wry grin)
LOL!
