Rainbow Snippets is a group for LGBTQ+ authors, bloggers, and readers to gather once a week and share six sentences from a work of fiction–a WIP or a finished work or even a 6-sentence book recommendation (no spoilers please!). Check out all the other awesome snippets by clicking on the picture above.
This snippet picks up from last week’s, from my still unnamed FF vampire novel. It’s also extremely raw (as in I’m pretty much writing this for Rainbow Snippet posts until I get the first draft of a different novel finished) so never mind any head-hopping you’ll see in any snippets. Sam has called her sister for help.
“Sam? Is something wrong?”
“No. Why would something be wrong?”
“Because you’re calling me.”
“Okay, well, I do need some help.”
“Thought so. What do you need?”
“I need to go shopping.”
There was silence on the other end. “Shopping? You need my help to go shopping?”
“For clothes.”
“Sam, you and I are not at all alike in our tastes for clothes.”
“I know. That’s why I need your help. I got an invitation to a club and I have nothing to wear and no idea where to even go to buy anything.”
“What club?”
“Evernight.”
“You got an invitation to Evernight?”
