Rainbow Snippets is a group for LGBTQ+ authors, bloggers, and readers to gather once a week and share six sentences from a work of fiction–a WIP or a finished work or even a 6-sentence book recommendation (no spoilers please!). Check out all the other awesome snippets by clicking on the picture above.
This snippet picks up from last week’s, from my still unnamed FF vampire novel. It’s also extremely raw (as in I’m pretty much writing this for Rainbow Snippet posts until I get the first draft of a different novel finished) so never mind any head-hopping you’ll see in any snippets.
Sam woke from a fitful sleep shortly before noon. She had hoped that a good sleep would put thoughts of Olivia Elder out of her head, but the dreams… Oh, the dreams!
She sat on her bed, alternately glaring at her closet and her phone. Her closet was no closer to providing an outfit than it had been the night before, but her phone… She sighed as she picked it up and scrolled through her contact list. She hated to do this and knew she’d never live it down, but she wanted to take Olivia up on her invitation, and she only knew one person who could help her put together an outfit.
Grimacing, she pressed the button to call her sister.
Oh ho, intriguing!
Nice!
Those last lines really open up a can of worms in regards to her sister. Can’t wait to see what’s up there
Oh no, the dreaded calling on the sibling for help.
