Rainbow Snippets is a group for LGBTQ+ authors, bloggers, and readers to gather once a week and share six sentences from a work of fiction–a WIP or a finished work or even a 6-sentence book recommendation (no spoilers please!). Check out all the other awesome snippets by clicking on the picture above.
This snippet picks up from last week’s, from my still unnamed FF vampire novel.
Once they [roadside assistance] were on the way she stared at her phone. She really wasn’t in the mood to deal with Pierce at the moment, but letting him know what happened now would save a great deal of time and annoyance later.
Predictably, he answered on the second ring.
“Ivoria,” he greeted her.
“I’ve asked you not to call me that.”
“It’s your name.”
“Not anymore.” He started to speak but she cut him off. “I have a flat and I’m waiting for roadside, so I’ll be late. Go ahead and open the club.” Normally she didn’t like it being open if she wasn’t there, but the dispatcher had said that there might be quite a wait, and she was fairly certain that Pierce could keep it under control, at least for the early hours.
“Don’t tell me you can’t change a tire?”
“Not in this skirt. At least, not in public.”

I’m getting flashbacks of Janette from Forever Knight, not that that’s a bad thing. Not at all…:)=
That’s quite a compliment!
Oh yes! Now that I look again, I see it too!
Getting a feeling that Pierce won’t be able to handle things.
