Rainbow Snippet for 1-1-2022

Rainbow Snippets is a group for LGBTQ+ authors, bloggers, and readers to gather once a week and share six sentences from a work of fiction–a WIP or a finished work or even a 6-sentence book recommendation (no spoilers please!).  Check out all the other awesome snippets by clicking on the picture above.

This snippet is from an as-yet-unnamed FF vampire novel. (Knowing me it will be unnamed for a long time.)

Livi stared at the driver’s side rear tire of her Bugatti and sighed. It was undeniably flat, and no amount of staring was going to make it less so.

She was perfectly capable of changing it herself, had she not been wearing thigh high leather boots and a skirt that barely covered what it should when she was upright. And in a crowded parking lot the last thing she wanted was too many offers of help.

Ah, well. That’s why she paid for roadside assistance.

Once they were on the way she stared at her phone. She really wasn’t in the mood to deal with Pierce at the moment, but letting him know what happened now would save a great deal of time and annoyance later.

Predictably, he answered on the second ring.
