Rainbow Snippets is a group for LGBTQ+ authors, bloggers, and readers to gather once a week and share six sentences from a work of fiction–a WIP or a finished work or even a 6-sentence book recommendation (no spoilers please!). Check out all the other awesome snippets by clicking on the picture above.
More from Onyx Sun. The good news is that I finally finished entering the changes I made on paper. The bad news is that there are still giant loose ends to tie up. But I’m getting there. Slowly.
Picking up from last week, which had Ayess describing the attack on the exploration team.
Taliya reached across the table and touched Ayess’ hand gently. The Araxian looked up at her, startled by the gesture, and managed a tentative smile.
“Whatever it was, it was gone. I performed funeral rites for the others and fortified our base in case whatever it was came back, and sent a message to the company that had sent us there, and also a distress call. A ship made contact with me and I thought I had been rescued. Instead, I was captured and sold.”
Poor Ayess…
Life is definitely now fair, 😕 ❤️ but perhaps it’s looking up?
What a terrible situation. Hopefully, it’s time for a positive change for Ayess.
Your post is included in this week’s Roost Recommendations. I share the Roost Recommendations posts on Twitter with readers looking for their next read.

Oof! Poor Ayess.
I wonder if her enslavement was due to someone using her as a scapegoat…
Poor Ayess.
