Rainbow Snippets is a group for LGBTQ+ authors, bloggers, and readers to gather once a week and share six sentences from a work of fiction–a WIP or a finished work or even a 6-sentence book recommendation (no spoilers please!). Taliya has bought a used space ship, had a few (mis)adventures with it, and has gone to look up an old friend from school for help. This picks up from last week’s snippet, in which Taliya filled Josul in on what’s been happening since she bought the ship.
“Arescar?” Startled would have been an understatement but he recovered immediately. “That’s… odd.” Taliya could see him turning the information over in his head, trying to connect the pieces. “So what brings you here?”
She took a deep breath. “I need you to hide my ship.”
Josul raised an eyebrow. “Hide your ship?”
“I need a new identity signal. I have mine disconnected at the moment so they couldn’t track me, but I can’t do that and do cargo runs.”
“No. Most places prefer that you have a legit identity.” He stared at her. “Do cargo runs?”
Even more intriguing…
Interesting. Are they planning on hiding in plain sight doing legit cargo runs? Or nah?
