Picking up from last week: Taliya has gone to an old friend for help.
A short time later the two of them were seated at a back table in a small bar.
“The food’s greasy, but good,” he assured her as she surveyed the dim surroundings before studying the menu.
“Latest conquest, Josul?” the waitress asked.
Josul colored and Taliya’s lips twitched.
“Just an old friend,” he muttered, and Taliya burst into laughter.
“I see you haven’t changed.” She shook her head. “For someone who wants to settle down you certainly get around.”
“Yeah, well, I haven’t found the right one yet.”
“But not for lack of trying,” the waitress said. “What can I bring you?”
