.
I’m posting from my current writing WiP, Song and Shadow, a prequel to Song and Sword. It’s a rough draft and I still don’t have an actual outline for it so it’s going to be a fun ride.
Picking up from last week’s snippet.
Hierik sighed and looked down at the table. “They’re right. I’m worthless. My own father thinks so, although he doesn’t come right out and say it, not even to me, let alone publicly.” He looked up again and frowned. “Why aren’t you sitting?”
“You never told me if I could join you.”
“Please,” Hierik said, and Pashevel bowed again.
“Thank you, Your Highness.”
“Hierik. I don’t feel very royal.”
“And that,” Pashevel replied as he hooked a stool with one foot and drew it toward the table, “is part of the problem.” He sat down across from him and held his gaze. “I can help you, if you want me to.”
Might be a good offer, however he means to help.
On the surface, this sounds like a nice offer and he sounds like a nice guy. But I’ve been a reader for far too long to not think he might have ulterior motives.
I hope his offer is genuine. nice snippet.
I hope this offer is honest and forthcoming. Hierik needs a friend.
