Sunday Snippet, October 6, 2019

Switching things up a bit for a bit, posting from a barely started rough draft that has no name yet.

(A bit more background about this story. It was started to go along with a D20tabletop RPG that a friend was creating.  I have no idea where his project currently stands; I should probably ask him.)

Chollee gave the contents of the cauldron an angry stir, muttering curses under her breath. The midday sun and disturbing lack of ocean breeze did nothing to improve her mood and she directed curses at them as well as the cauldron, the contents of the cauldron, the fire under the cauldron, and the owner of the cauldron.

Not genuine curses of course: she wasn’t quite that angry – except maybe at the owner of the cauldron. She gave contents another stir and a few drops splashed out, landing on the stones of the fire pit and hissing angrily as they ate away at one.

“I thought that was supposed to be a love potion?” a voice said curiously.

“Go away, Ozell. I’m not in the mood.”

“Obviously,” the voice snickered and she splashed some of the liquid in its general direction.

  1. Amusing snippet that caught my attention!

  2. Not a love potion I’d want to drink! Loved the snippet, such wonderful details to set the scene and tell us her mood. Can’t wait to read more.

  3. Liked the snippet. I wonder whether the liquid she splashes at him will have some affect on him 🙂

  4. Hywela Lyn

I really enjoyed this snippet – I could really visualize the scene and it drew me right in, wanting to read more.
