Still posting from Book Two of The Other Mages trilogy this month, mostly because I’m too lazy to pick something different. (This is also why the same CD stays in my car’s player for months on end.)
Trebor is an Empath. D’Laron is his best friend and a Healer.
Luthen is… Well, an Elder in their tradition, and a mentor, especially to Trebor.
Katheri is also an Empath, and Trebor and D’Laron are her Sajen – her trainers/mentors.
Sidden is a Healer and Empath, more experienced than Trebor or D’Laron.
Picking up from last week’s post.
“As safe as anywhere, and safer than some. My only real concern so far is Xooshemi. I don’t trust her.”
“Neither do Del and I.”
“Wise of you.” Sidden hesitated. “Treb, even if this isn’t a safe place for our people to relocate to, as long as it’s moderately safe — safe enough for you and Del and Katheri to stay here — would you be willing to act as a safe house for people on the run?”
Sidden chuckled. “Not even going to ask Del first?”
“He’ll agree. His only concern — and my only concern – will be for Katheri’s safety, but since there is no way to guarantee it regardless, we will both do whatever we can to help others.”
(Kaeryia is the Senior Empath. She trained Sidden.)
