My Camp NaNoWriMo project this month is yet another attempt to get a handle on Book Two of The Other Mages trilogy. (Yes, I know I’ve tried to finish this in other Camp sessions, but this time I’ve had an “ah-ha!” moment on how to fix a plot issue so I actually have hope…
Character introduction:
Trebor is an Empath. D’Laron is his best friend and a Healer. Luthen is… Well, an Elder in their tradition, and a mentor, especially to Trebor. Katheri is also an Empath, and Trebor and D’Laron are her Sajen – her trainers/mentors.
Both of Trebor’s hands were full when the knock came. “Luthen,” he said. “And he’s really feeling overly pleased with himself.”
D’Laron chuckled. “I’ll let him in.” He was already on his way down the hall to the front door when he spoke.
Luthen came in with a burst of cold air and rush of joy and laughter as he and D’Laron greeted each other.
“What are you planning?” D’Laron murmured as he embraced him.
“Oh, no, little brother. If I tell you, Trebor will know and it’s a surprise for him.”
“Katheri!” Luthen lifted her in his arms and swung her in a circle. “Are you keeping these two in line?”
