Rainbow Snippets is a group for LGBTQ+ authors, bloggers, and readers to gather once a week and share six sentences from a work of fiction–a WIP or a finished work or even a 6-sentence book recommendation (no spoilers please!).   Check out all the other awesome snippets by clicking on the picture above.

This will be the last post from Book Five of the Academy of the Accord (fantasy) series that I have been (and will be) working on for forever. After this bit things get a little confusing and frustrating as I try to figure out how best to introduce another character (Shander) without mucking up the way the world (and the Wizard/Warder thing) works.

Skipping ahead a bit from last week to breakfast:

“So, what are the plans for the day?” Marsden asked.

“Whatever you want us to do,” Wellhym replied. “You’re the Commander.”

Marsden chuckled. “Did you hear that, Vinadi? One of them actually acknowledged that I was in command.”

“Don’t let it go to your head,” Kordelm replied. “It was just a momentary lapse of judgment on Wel’s part.”

Marsden laughed. “Fair enough,” he said. “But while I’m still in charge, I’d like to see how Draethlen is coming along, and then let’s just take the rest of the day to relax. I’ve missed my wizard, and I know that the separation wasn’t easy for the four of you, either.”
