Rainbow Snippets is a group for LGBTQ+ authors, bloggers, and readers to gather once a week and share six sentences from a work of fiction–a WIP or a finished work or even a 6-sentence book recommendation (no spoilers please!).   Check out all the other awesome snippets by clicking on the picture above.

Skipping ahead a bit to after the briefing. (And, yes, Caristen did get something to eat.)

Kordelm and Wellhym got Draethlen settled and went through their office and up to their quarters to find Caristen and Torlew waiting for them.

“Bath house,” Caristen said softly as Wellhym embraced Torlew.

The big blond warrior nodded, but made no effort to move.  Torlew clung to him, shaking, drawing in his scent and his strength.

“What about Drae?” Kordelm asked softly, watching them, his heart aching at the pain he saw in Torlew.

“I’ll touch him with a sleep spell,” Caristen assured him. “He won’t wake until morning.”

Kordelm nodded and gently touched Wellhym’s shoulder. “Come on,” he said softly. He put a hand on Torlew’s arm and the wizard looked up at him and nodded, slowly drawing himself away from his Warder.
