Taliya and Ayess are in the room with the cryo chambers, trying to find the source of the random power flux.
Ayess frowned as ni stared at them. They were all the same; not one of them showed signs of activity and ni glanced at ni-es monitor. “The surge is gone.”
“But you’re getting closer.”
The monitor beeped and ni frowned at it, moving along the row of the units. Ni stopped at the second one from the left. “Here,” ni said. “It’s here, but it isn’t…”
“Well that’s not cryptic at all.”
Ayess’ race does not have words for he/she/his/hers, etc, because they are (for lack of a better term) hermaphroditic. Their pronouns to refer to other members of their race are “ni” (for he/she/him/her), “ni-es” (his/hers), “ni-en” (they/them) and “ni-en-es” for theirs.
Heh! Great come back amidst all the tension. :)
Ha! Definitely cryptic, and I’d like to know what “here but it’s not” means.
Are they going to figure it out soon? :)
Hmm, interesting…and…uh…*cough*…cryptic.
Not at all mysterious! ;)
I like the mystery, and also the pronouns. ;)
Loved that last line. I’m curious to find out what it is (or isn’t)
Cryptic indeed.
No. Not cryptic at all. My engineer’s heart bleeds…
