Rainbow Snippet for 8-6-2016

Rainbow Snippets is a group for LGBTQ+ authors, bloggers, and readers to gather once a week and share six sentences from a work of fiction–a WIP or a finished work or even a 6-sentence book recommendation (no spoilers please!).   Check out all the other awesome snippets by clicking on the picture above.

Posting from Onyx Sun, a science fiction novel that is currently in revision and which I’m hoping to publish later this month.  (Those of you who participate in Sunday Snippets may remember parts of this.)

There may or may not be some creative punctuation involved in the following text.

Taliya stared at her as the realization sank in.  “That’s why you wouldn’t let me take Luzita with me – you had this planned all along.”

Maureena made a dismissive gesture with one hand

“You bitch!  You uncaring bitch!”  Taliya pushed past her, heading toward the staircase that led to the living quarters.

“Where are you going?”

“My room. I’m packing and then I’m leaving to find Luzita.”

“You’re too late. The merchant fleet left yesterday.”

“The station will have records.  I don’t care if it takes the rest of my life, I will find her.”

“If you leave, don’t bother to return.”

“What makes you think I would want to?”

  1. I’m loving all these snippets. I hope she finds her.

  2. Oh ho! I wonder if Taliya just called Maureena’s bluff? She may not care about Luzita, or Taliya’s feelings for Luzita, but Taliya herself? Even if it’s only as her ‘queen’ on the chess board of family manipulation.

Ooh, what a bitch. I hope this has a happy ending.

  4. Good luck to you, Taliya! I hope she finds her girl :)

  5. Great attitude. I do hope she finds Luzita.

  6. Yuss! That last line is excellent! I’ve been desperate to see her kick back for weeks!
