1776

So, I need to write 1776 words per day to finish on time.  Appropriate number for the Fourth of July, don’t you think?

But never fear! It will be worse by tomorrow.

Today I’m going to finish the blog hops (Rainbow Snippets is done, Sunday Snippets haven’t even been started) and trim my fingernails so I can type without being annoyed by them tomorrow.  (I seriously don’t know how people with long fingernails can type.)

Tomorrow I’m going to clean the rat cage and write.  And drink a lot of Mountain Dew to try to stay focused.  Wednesday will be pretty much the same, minus the rat cage cleaning. I’d like to have a two or three thousand word cushion by the time I go back to work on Thursday.  And with any luck I’ll be able to maintain that until the weekend strikes back.

Other than getting caught up and getting ahead, what I’d really love to do on my “weekend” is finish the bits I need for Onyx Sun.  Then, once I get a bit of breathing room in my word count, I want to figure out where the two scenes (one already written plus the one I’m working on) need to go in the manuscript and insert them, put the new ending in place, and get the whole thing ready to print for another round of editing to start either when I hit 50k or the beginning of August.  (I’d love to be able to get it printed on the 15th when I meet a friend for lunch, but we’ll see.  Word count comes before editing and such this month.)

By the end of the month I want to be able to print Book Six of The Academy of the Accord. (And once school is back in session in September I want to be able to take Books 5, 6, and 7 to the library to spread them out and work on continuity between the three of them.  And maybe Book 8, too – I’m not sure yet.)

I’ve been posting snippets of Onyx Sun in the Rainbow Snippet blog hop on Saturdays, and it warms the cockles of my little authorly heart to see how much people hate Maureena.  (This is actually the second group to hate her – the Sunday Snippet crew was forming a lynch mob.)

And that’s about all the news from NaNoLand.

Well, almost all the news. The rest will have to wait for another day.
