Rainbow Snippets is a group for LGBTQ+ authors, bloggers, and readers to gather once a week and share six sentences from a work of fiction–a WIP or a finished work or even a 6-sentence book recommendation (no spoilers please!). Check out all the other awesome snippets by clicking on the picture above.

“When are you planning to return?”
“I’ll be leaving in the morning, as soon as the freighters have set down so I have a clear flight path.”
“When you get back I have another assignment for you. Oh, and your grandmother died yesterday.”
“Pendelia Four is now visible on the monitor.”

Taliya had flown Swann Corp’s private transport ever since she had been licensed; her mother saw no need to pay extra for a pilot when she could do it. Now, for the first time since she had received her license she turned control of the company ship over to the port’s computers. The ship had been on autopilot for the entire trip from the Roseeba Sector, and so had she.
