Sanity Has Prevailed

At least, whatever I have that passes for sanity. (Or some semblance thereof.)

I decided at the last minute not to do JuNoWriMo.  I just have too much on my plate and instead of looking forward to the challenge I was dreading it and feeling overwhelmed and stressed.

So, no 50k word goal this month.

I also decided not to write a short story for the anthology.  I would like to.  I would like to write the story that’s been in my head for, oh… ten years or so… but now is just not the time to do it.  I’m afraid that with everything else that I’m trying to do this month I wouldn’t give it the time and attention that it deserves.

I feel kind of bad for dropping both of those things, but

So, for once in my life sanity has prevailed and I’ve walked away from a couple projects.

That’s not to say that I’m sane.  The rest of my to do list stands.

And grows.

Like a well fertilized dandelion.

Which anthology are you talking about, if you don’t mind my asking? Sometimes you have to drop projects. That’s just how life works.

I’m glad you are taking steps to reduce how much stress you are under at any one time! Self-care is so important for creative types.
