Rainbow Snippets is a group for LGBTQ+ authors, bloggers, and readers to gather once a week and share six sentences from a work of fiction–a WIP or a finished work or even a 6-sentence book recommendation (no spoilers please!).   Check out all the other awesome snippets by clicking on the picture above.

Picking up later that night after Tirza has learned that Kel is a woman.  (They haven’t seen each other since the reveal.)  Kel is on her way to bed, and sees a light under Tirza’s door so stops to tell her goodnight.

“My lady,” Kel smiled, stroking her cheek.  “I just wanted to see you before I turned in.”  She cupped one hand behind Tirza’s head and kissed her softly, then straightened when Tirza responded by stiffening and pulling away.

Looking down into her eyes, Kel knew; Tirza had finally asked Maresh, and Maresh had told her.  “I understand, my lady.”   Kel stepped back and bowed, then pivoted and crossed the hall to her own room.

“Kel.”

She stopped and turned back, grateful for the dimness of the hall and the distance between them, not wanting Tirza to see the tears in her eyes.

    Such a delicate scene. Beautiful.

  3. That almost had tears coming to my eyes, so lovely and touching, a beautiful moment, edged with sadness.

Oh, poor Kel. I’m hoping Tirza isn’t about to break her heart for real.

Poor Kel (though I’m expecting a happy turnaround for her).
