Continuing from Disturbed Magic (until or unless a better title comes along). Picking up from last week’s post, in which Tirza silenced the entire inn by announcing that Kel is a Sword Dancer.
“A – a what?” Kel fought down a surge of near panic.
“A Sword Dancer.”
“No,” Kel said with a laugh. “I don’t know about Arcannull, but there are no Sword Dancers in Saradend. They were made illegal generations ago, and anyone who practiced the art was executed.”
Tirza nodded slowly, staring at the table, and after a long moment she sighed. “Maybe my family was right. Maybe I do live too much in a dream world where there is magic and other things that don’t really exist.” She looked up again. “Kel? Would… would you mind spending the night with me?”
There was a guffaw from a nearby table and the tavern resumed its normal conversations as Tirza flushed.
