I had an awful thought.
Well, two awful thoughts.
The first one was the realization that I’m going to need to write blurbs for all twelve books in the Academy of the Accord series
The other is that I’m going to have to come up with actual titles for all twelve books.
Forget free lance editors. What I really need are professional blurb-writers and book-namers.
(Anyone want to apply for the job?)
In less frightening news, I finished the first round of paper edits of Book Three of The Academy of the Accord. I put it back into its regular binder last night, and moved Book Four into the flex one so I can start work on it.
But I’m kind of torn. Yes, I want to work my way through these first edits, but I’m getting way ahead of myself when it comes to entering changes to the Word doc, which makes it hard to interpret my handwriting. (I’m only a quarter of the way through Book Two on that part of the project.)
(But on the other hand, I’m going to be off work for at least a week so I have a good chance of getting caught up.)
The other issue is that I really don’t want to get too much further into this until I start work on my concordance.
I think I’m going to do Book Four, and maybe Five. Or at least most of Five. Then stop to work on the concordance, get caught up on entering changes, and finish the revisions to Onyx Sun and get it published.
Book Five is a good place to pause and regroup before forging ahead, because there is sort of a shift in the story starting with that book. And the end of Five and the starts of Six and Seven sort of run concurrently so I need to be able to sit down with all three of them and spread them out in a row and flip back and forth between them.
(And how did I get myself into this mess?)
Plus, April is coming, and with it NaPoWriMo and Camp NaNoWriMo.
So, yeah. I’m going to work through Four and maybe Five and then put paper edits on hold until May.
And I’m going to try not to think about blurbs and titles.
