Sunday Excerpt — September 14, 2014

More from Sanguine, a science fiction novel with elements of semi-paranormal M/M romance.

Again, I’m skipping ahead a bit from last week.  They are on Earth and at the castle.  Kaen has accepted Blood Offerings from all of his people, but Gregor has noticed that someone is missing…

(There may or may not be some creative punctuation involved.)

“Where is Mirela?”

“Mirela is…”

“I am here,” Mirela’s quiet voice cut off Gavril’s answer.

“There you are!”  Gregor hugged her tightly.  “Where have you been?  I thought you would be the first to greet me.”

“What are you doing here?”

Mirela turned to face Gavril, defiance shining in her blue eyes.  “I am here to offer my blood to my family’s Master.”

“I told you…”

“You have no say in this.  I am of the Blood – it is my right to make the offering to my Blood Master.”

Nice. I like her fire and how she stands up for the connection. Great snippet, PT. :)

  3. LOL on the creative punctuation. I’m definitely pro-creativity! Great snippet!

  4. Gem

I’m curious about Gavril’s relationship to her. Husband? He definitely isn’t offering his blood. Well done. Again, I can’t wait to read entire book!

  5. Allyson

    Great snippet!

  6. “defiance shining in her blue eyes” – great description!

    Uh oh. Something’s wrong here.

  8. Well… that certainly turned intense in an instant. Great work.

  9. Enjoyed the snippet and the interaction here. Great descriptions, too!!

  10. Hey, it’s Uncle Stupidhead! :D

(I know I’ve read it–three times, now, not including favorite bits–but I still can’t wait for this to come out!)

  11. Looks like all is not peace and light.

  12. I think they are going to get into a blood problem really soon. I mean the more offering the better but seeing the intimacy of it they are definitely going to get in trouble.
